Projects & Approach

We work at the intersection of Operational Excellence and Technology.

We work with your team to improve their work processes, and leverage tools and technologies to make their work easier and more enjoyable. We work on problem-driven solutions, supported by tech, not the other way around.

We can help you to strategise and plan for the future, solve specific problems, help identify opportunities and potential improvements, and create roadmaps to help you improve your business operations.

Building resilient companies allows you to achieve your objectives so you are not stuck in groundhogs day fighting the same fires and solving the same problems reactively.

Regional Pasta Manufacturer – Factory Automation

A small regional pasta manufacturer was looking for solutions to reduce manual handling issues and increase automation in their small fresh pasta manufacturing facility. Following the site visit a Roadmap was delivered to enable the business to implement solutions in-house.

The Roadmap identified solutions to help automate the handling of trays and cartons to reduce repetitive work, and lean manufacturing concepts were presented to help improve the overall production process and flow to make work easier for the team and improve overall efficiencies.

Timber Processing Facility – Facility Digitalisation (Currently in progress)

This small timber treatment and processing business in regional Victoria currently operates a basic accounting package, with time sheets, inventory management and other business functions completely manual and paper-based. There is no visibility of current stock levels, and considerable manual reporting and data entry by the owners. Solutions currently under review will provide digital connectivity from the log processing to enable visibility of all unprocessed, WIP and finished inventory in real time for accurate scheduling and order processing. Automated time clocks and process upgrades will help to reduce the manual overheads of payroll and employee management. Future upgrades to barcoding and more robust labelling will help to further automate the management of inventory and order processing.

Local Metal Fabrication Shop – Welders Required!

Skills shortages in trained welders are especially prevalent in Aussie manufacturing currently. For this melbourne metal fabricator we assisted to review the existing products and welding process to find the right local vendor match for small collaborative robot welding solutions for around the $50k mark. This not only enabled the welding to be completed autonomously, but internal staff were able to setup and program the cobots in-house without prior programming experience. This enabled the welding cobot to be used on future welding and experiment with other applications, bringing the capability all in-house and ideal for smaller local manufacturers with short runs and low volumes.

Architectural Sheet Metal Products – Help with DIFOT please!

A rapidly growing architectural sheet metal producer was having issues in guaranteeing 100% complete deliveries to their customers located all over Australia. Frequently one or more panel would fail to be delivered, go missing, or become damaged which incurred considerable overheads in disruption to the production schedule, remanufacturing and freight costs, and reputational damage. Solutions were identified and implemented to create a foolproof process with improved Direct Part Marking, automated quality and visual checks, and checkweighing solutions to ensure 100% delivery in full and on time.
